Where Does Pitt Commit Dishon Jackson Rank in the Portal?

Pitt received its first transfer portal commitment over the weekend, as Dishon Jackson, an Iowa State transfer, committed to Jeff Capel and co.
Jackson is a 6-11, 275-pound senior center, who this past season averaged 8.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per game in 18.7 minutes of action. The year prior, he averaged 11.4 points and 6.1 rebounds. His best two performances last year were a 17-point, 4 rebound game against Kansas and a 14-point, 5-rebound effort against TCU.
Jackson ranks No. 91 on On3’s transfer portal rankings out of 800+ transfers listed. On our rankings at The Portal Report — out of all 1,800+ transfers from D1 — Jackson ranks as the No. 223 prospect in the portal. He is the No. 72 overall player in our rankings of forwards and centers in the portal. He ranks highest in our Rebounding (98th overall) and Finishing metrics.
*TPR’s Rankings are completely based on production at the college level.
Iowa State was Jackson’s third college team after playing at both Washington State and Charlotte.
Jackson visited Pitt the prior weekend. In addition, his former teammate Nojus Indrusaitis visited Pitt too.
Indrusaitis, who spent his high-school years in the Chicago area, was ranked as the No. 96 player and a four-star prospect in the class of 2024 before going to Iowa State. He played for Meanstreets EYBL and also competed for Saint Rita High School in Chicago before going to Brewster Academy.
Indrusaitis is the first known visitor of the spring for Pitt, who is looking to fill practically an entire rotation. The Panthers lost Jaland Lowe to the transfer portal just one day ago, and have also lost Amsal Delalic, both Diaz Graham twins, and Marlon Barnes Jr. so far.
Pitt has reached out to many players in the portal already, including Corey Chest out of LSU, Tae Davis out of Notre Dame, and others.
Pitt now has several big men on the team for next year, including Jackson, Amdy Ndiaye, Papa Amadou Kante, and Cam Corhen.
