The Pitt volleyball program got some interesting news on Tuesday as they look to stock their roster for the future.

Pitt head coach Dan Fisher received word that 2026 middle blocker Jessica Smallwood was flipping her previous commitment of Florida and instead would be joining Pitt.

Smallwood is a 6-foot-5 standout from Elizabethtown, Kentucky, who has been committed to Florida since June of 2024.

Smallwood becomes the 6th member of Pitt’s Class of 2026 as she joins Isabella Hoppe, Trinity Thompson, Lola Sageer, Ayanna Watson and Izzy Masten. Fisher and his program continues to pull recruits from all over the country as their Class of 2026 includes players from Kentucky, Las Vegas, Pittsburgh and New York.

When you win like the Pitt volleyball program has over the years, you become a destination spot for recruits.

Pitt is coming off a 33-2 season, which included winning their 6th ACC title in the last 8 years and earning a No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.
