Pitt BB Recruiting
Pitt Contacts Agent of All-MAC Guard in Transfer Portal

Pitt is working hard to fill out a roster in the transfer portal.
The Panthers’ staff has reached out to a number of players and agents in pursuit of the latest recruits to join Jeff Capel’s program. Now, another player has been added to the board.
Pitt has reached out to Chansey Willis Jr.’s agent, Willis told Pittsburgh Sports Now and The Portal Report.
Willis has not heard from Pitt himself, however, his agent has. This is common in transfer portal recruiting.
Willis told The Portal Report that he has heard directly from Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, South Florida, Loyola Chicago, DePaul, Clemson, Minnesota, Florida State, and Texas A&M so far since entering the portal.
Willis earned second team All-MAC honors after playing for Western Michigan. A junior from Detroit, Willis averaged 16.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game for the Broncos this past season as a junior. He shot 28% from three-point range, making 33 threes. He began his career at Saginaw Valley State (D2), before transferring to junior college Henry Ford College. He earned the 2022 Michigan Mr. Basketball award and the 2022 Michigan Gatorade Player of the Year award out of Detroit King High School.
Pitt has landed two transfer commitments already this spring, earning commitments from two former Iowa State players. Dishon Jackson, a center, committed first. Then, on Monday, Nojus Indrusaitis committed to the Panthers. Stay tuned for more on PSN.
Jackson is a 6-11, 275-pound senior center, who this past season averaged 8.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per game in 18.7 minutes of action. The year prior, he averaged 11.4 points and 6.1 rebounds. His best two performances last year were a 17-point, 4 rebound game against Kansas and a 14-point, 5-rebound effort against TCU.
Indrusaitis, who spent his high-school years in the Chicago area, was ranked as the No. 96 player and a four-star prospect in the class of 2024 before going to Iowa State. He played for Meanstreets EYBL and also competed for Saint Rita High School in Chicago before going to Brewster Academy.
