Captains from the Pitt Blue and Gold teams carefully drafted out their respective teams this week for Saturday’s Spring Game at Acrisure Stadium.
Seniors, specialists and offensive linemen were already predetermined prior to the draft. Specifically for the linemen, they were divvied up based on the 1s and 2s to create more continuity on the line and not a random assortment of combinations up front during the game
The challenge for the captains — Nate Temple, Jake Overman, Tamon Lynum and Rashad Battle for Blue and Desmond Reid, Javon McIntyre, Lyndon Cooper and Ryan Baer for Gold — was the options that remained on the table outside of pre-selected players and injuries.
