The effort of the Pitt staff prioritizing the talent rich state of Texas has resulted in another player deciding on making an official visit.

This morning, 2026 3-star defensive back Davis Kinney announced that he’s scheduled his official visit to Pitt from June 12-14th.

Kinney (6’0″, 185-pounds) attends Travis High School in Richmond, Texas and holds other offers from Arizona State, Minnesota, Navy, New Mexico, Northwestern, Rice, Sacramento State, Stephen F. Austin, Texas State, Tulsa, UTEP, Wyoming and Yale.

Kinney has now scheduled 3 official visits, with the first two at- Arizona State (May 16-18) and Northwestern (May 30-June 1).

“I decided to take an official visit to Pitt because of the strong relationship I’ve built with the coaching staff,” Kinney tells PSN. “They’ve been consistent and genuine throughout the process, and I really like the energy around the program. I’m looking forward to learning more about their academics and everything they have to offer on and off the field.”

Back on January 28th, Randy Bates and Pitt became the first Power 4 program to extend Kinney an offer.

Pitt’s first commitment for their Class of 2026 came from 3-star quarterback Angelo Renda from Southlake, Texas. Last year, Pitt was able to sign 4-star offensive tackle Jordan Fields from Houston, Texas.
