Just a couple days after receiving an offer from his hometown school, transfer defensive lineman Bralen Henderson is making a visit to Pitt.

Henderson, a graduate of Central Catholic High School in 2021, announced on April 15th his intentions to leave Ohio University as a graduate transfer.

Henderson tells Pittsburgh Sports Now that he will make a visit to Pitt this coming Wednesday to talk to the coaches, learn about the program and check out the facilities.

Soon after that, Henderson started receiving offers from interested programs including Pitt. Since entering the portal, the 6’2″, 280-pound defensive lineman has received offers from Pitt, Wake Forest, Utah, Miami Ohio, Toledo, Washington State, UConn, Georgia Tech, California, Vanderbilt, Florida Atlantic, UTEP, Western Kentucky and New Mexico.

Henderson started every game for Ohio University last season and over the last two seasons, he’s played in 700 snaps, registering 47 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 2 sacks and 1 forced fumble.

As a senior at Central Catholic, he compiled 40 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, two forced fumbles, seven hurries and four passes defended. He picked Ohio over other offers from Brown, Princeton, Lehigh, Army, Navy and others.

Henderson is not the first transfer defensive linemen Pitt has showed interest in. According to a report from Allen Trieu of 247Sports, Pitt is interested in Western Michigan defensive tackle Mason Nelson.

Pitt currently has five defensive tackles that all could see serious time in 2025 in Nick James, Sean FitzSimmons, Francis Brewu, Isaiah Neal and Jahsear Whittington.

If the Panthers land Henderson, they could move him to the outside where there is more open competition on the edge behind returning starter Jimmy Scott. Transfers Blaine Spires, Joey Zelinsky and Jaeden Moore, along with Nate Temple and Maverick Gracio are pushing for time.
