Pitt FB Recruiting
Pitt Listed as a Top 11 School for 2026 3-Star Defensive Back

Pitt continues its push for talent in the 2026 class and another intriguing prospect has included the Panthers as a top program.
Devonte Anderson — a three-star defensive back out of West Orange High School in Florida — has placed Pitt in his top 11 schools, along with Auburn, Miami, Kansas State, UCF, Louisville, Iowa, Maryland, Rutgers, Michigan State and Cincinnati

West Virginia, Florida, Colorado, Wisconsin, Missouri, Minnesota, USF, Kansas, Iowa State and Georgia Tech are some of the schools the 6-1, 190-pound prospect cut from his offer sheet.
Pitt offered Anderson back in January with cornerbacks coach Archie Collins and running back coach Lindsey Lamar spearheading the recruitment.
Anderson will take official visits at Louisville (May 30), UCF (June 2), Michigan State (June 6), Auburn (June 13) and Cincinnati (June 20).
Anderson is a two-way standout at West Orange as a wide receiver and primarily a cornerback on defense. He has a hard-hitting edge with good instincts and burst, along with strong coverage skills.
In 13 games last fall, Anderson totaled 38 tackles (30 solo) and a tackle for loss. He also added three interceptions with a pick-six. Offensively, Anderson compiled 26 receptions for 447 yards and three touchdowns, along with seven carries for 70 yards.

247Sports rates Anderson as a three-star prospect, the 69th corner in the class and 73rd overall recruit from Florida.
As of now, Pitt appears as an outside candidate to land Anderson, but time will tell on what type of push, if any, the Panthers put on for Anderson. It will be of importance if Pitt can find a way to get Anderson on campus for an official visit.
Pitt has one commitment in the secondary for the 2026 cycle with three-star Columbus, Ohio safety Isaac Patterson.
