Another WPIAL star basketball player is off the board with a recent collegiate commitment.

Former New Castle standout guard Ralphie Blundo has committed to Indiana University-Pennsylvania, according to his Twitter page.

The 6-foot, 175-pound guard played for his father at New Castle, and also played for PK Flash on the AAU circuit. Blundo scored 15.4 points per game this season in 22 games for New Castle.

This announcement comes just days after another WPIAL player announced his commitment to a college basketball program.

Avonworth basketball star guard Rowan Carmichael announced his collegiate commitment on Tuesday night.

Carmichael announced that he has committed to Edinboro, an NCAA Division II school in the PSAC.

WPIAL Basketball Star Announces Commitment

Carmichael was the No. 1 scorer in the WPIAL this past season, averaging 32 points per game in the regular season. Carmichael jumped over the 2,000-point total for his high-school career this season, too.

Carmichael is the son of current La Roche (D3) head basketball coach Hermie Carmichael. His father commented on the commitment online, congratulating his son and the Edinboro program. A 6-foot guard, Carmichael recently went off for 40+ points in a game at the Pitt Jam Fest over the weekend. Carmichael was one of the many players in the Western Pennsylvania basketball community this past season that received interest from the collegiate level, and he now ends up committing to a school before his senior year wraps up.
