Duquesne Transfer RB, Potential Pitt Target Lands at ACC School

Pitt football was a potential option for Duquesne running back transfer JaMario Clements, but nothing ever came to fruition and now he is headed to a different program in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Several reports surfaced last week that the nearby grad transfer running back option was scheduling a visit to Pitt, but Pittsburgh Sports Now was told by a source soon after the reports that he was not going to visit. He was also expected to visit California.
On Monday, Clements committed to Wake Forest, per Chris Hummer of 247Sports.

Clements — a 5-11, 205-pound talent from Lafayette, Ga. — rushed for a career-high 986 yards and six touchdowns last season for the Dukes as led the Northeast Conference and earned First-Team All-Conference honors. He compiled five 100-yard games.
In his first three seasons at Duquesne, Clements ran for 762 yards and five touchdowns across 23 games.
When it comes to Pitt’s running back room, the Panthers are in a gray area. They certainly could use a veteran back to help bolster the unit, especially with the youth and the always lingering potential of injury.
However, Pitt appears to be pretty content with what it has in senior Desmond Reid, redshirt freshman Juelz Goff and freshman Ja’Kyrian Turner after spring camp. East Stroudsburg transfer Justin Cook, who moved in from wide receiver, also showed some potential at the position throughout spring and the Panthers bring in two more freshmen, Jaylin Brown and Synkwan Smith, in the summer.
If Gateway product Derrick Davis Jr. returns from injury, Pitt would not have a ton of room to bring in a transfer option such as Clements. For Davis, there is a possibility that he still will not be ready for the start of fall camp, head coach Pat Narduzzi said following the spring game. He suffered a season-ending injury at Boston College.
