Pitt Basketball Picks Up Commitment From 2025 Big Man

While Pitt basketball has spent the recent weeks targeting the transfer portal, the program is now transitioning back to the prep route and it has led to a commitment from a Class of 2025 big man from Canada.
Kieran Mullen – a 7-foot center who is taking a post-grad year at the St. Thomas Moore School in Connecticut — committed to Pitt on Monday, per Joe Tipton of On3.

Mullen, a native of Vancouver, British Columbia, is expected to redshirt, Tipton added.
Pitt has recruited Mullen for some time now and was in to visit him back in September. He selected the Panthers over Mid-Major offers from James Madison, Seattle, Coastal Carolina and Montana State.
247Sports rates Mullen as a three-star prospect and the 53rd-best center in the cycle. Prior to joining St. Thomas Moore as a senior, Mullen previously attended Orangeville Prep in Ontario, along with Hadsworth Secondary School back home in Vancouver.
He becomes the second commit in the Class of 2025 for Pitt, joining four-star guard Omari Witherspoon.

Looking at the tape, Mullen is a strong defender in the low post as a rim protector. He plays with good speed at his size and picks up defensive switches well. He attacks the rim on the offensive side of the floor as well. Overall, Pitt is getting a raw post player with some upside that can be developed during his redshirt season.
For the 2025-26 season, Pitt has landed portal commitments from South Alabama wing Barry Dunning Jr., Iowa State forward Dishon Jackson, along with teammate wing Nojus Indrusaitis, and Oregon State guard Damarco Minor. In addition, Papa Amadou Kante exited the portal and will return to the Panthers.
The Panthers other returnees include guard Brandin Cummings and forwards Cam Corhen and Amdy Ndiaye.
