Pitt QB commit Angelo Renda

The Pitt football coaching staff is out in full force this week recruiting various players in the Class of 2026, 2027 and 2028.

At least at the start of the week, one of the states that’s receiving the most attention from Pitt is Texas. By our count, the Panthers have at least four coaches in the state recruiting different areas of the talent rich state.

This morning, the Pitt staff extended offers to at least four high school recruits. In the last couple of years, led by Randy Bates and Jacob Bronowski, recruiting Texas has turned into a priority for Pitt.

In the last 48 hours, Pitt has not only been recruiting uncommitted high school players but also one that’s already given them a verbal commitment.

2026 three-star quarterback Angelo Renda, from South Lake Texas, received a visit on Monday from Pitt offensive coordinator Kade Bell. One month ago, Renda made his first visit to the city of Pittsburgh and a month later, Bell returned to see his future quarterback.

PSN caught up with Renda to ask him about his conversation with Bell and the strong relationship that’s forming with the Pitt staff.
