Former Pitt Star MJ Devonshire Claimed Off Waivers By Carolina

A year after spending his first season in the NFL with the Las Vegas Raiders, former Pitt and Aliquippa standout MJ Devonshire has a new NFL home.
On Monday, Devonshire was claimed off waivers from Las Vegas by the Carolina Panthers.
The talented cornerback was selected in the 7th Round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Raiders and spent the season on the Raiders practice squad.
Devonshire did not appear in any games last season with Las Vegas.
After signing a futures contract with Las Vegas following the season, they made the decision to waive him last week, which allowed Carolina to claim him. This could be a good spot for Devonshire since they did not select any cornerback in the recently concluded NFL Draft.

After transferring to Pitt from Kentucky, Devonshire collected 8 interceptions in 38 games, 3 of which went for touchdowns, with the Panthers.
During his time with Pitt, Devonshire ended up being a two-time All-ACC selection.
