Pitt Transfer TE Lands with Big 10 Program

The first Pitt football portal loss of the spring transfer window has landed with a new program out of the Big 10.
Jake Renda — a 6-foot-4, 240-pound tight end — has signed with the UCLA Bruins, according to Pete Nakos of On3.

Renda hit the portal on April 14 with two years of eligibility remaining as a redshirt senior. Upon entering the portal, he added additional offers from Troy, Kent State, Western Kentucky, Southern Miss, FAU, Louisiana Tech and others.
Renda spent his entirety of his collegiate career so far with the Panthers after joining the program in the 2021 class. His time at Pitt during the last few years has been limited. He missed the 2024 season due to a preseason injury. He was also limited during the 2025 spring camp and was inactive for the Pitt spring game.
In 2023, he appeared in three games primarily on special team and as a reserve tight end. Registered two catches for 14 yards against Wofford. The year prior as a redshirt freshman, he played in nine game with no recorded stats.
A Princeton, N.J. native, Renda played his final year of high school football at IMG Academy. 247Sports rated Renda as a three-star prospect and the 80th tight end in the class.
Since Renda hit the portal, Pitt has added Marshall transfer tight end Justin Holmes as he joins the three other scholarship tight ends in Jake Overman, Malachi Thomas and Max Hunt.
