Pitt FB Recruiting
Pitt Continues to Recruit 3-Star Commit Dylan Wester

While having a verbal commitment from a player is nice, the Pitt football staff fully realizes that their job of fully landing that player isn’t official until National Signing Day.
In today’s unpredictable world and business of college athletics, nothing can be taken for granted.
With that in mind, while out on the road recruiting, the Pitt staff is also making sure that recruiting includes players in their Class of 2026.
While recruiting in Texas last week, Pitt offensive coordinator Kade Bell spent some time with 3-star quarterback commit Angelo Renda.

Along with Renda, the Pitt staff also stopped by to see someone that they hope Renda will be throwing to, 2026 3-star wide receiver commit Dylan Wester.
The 3-star playmaker from Sarasota, Florida committed to Pitt back in March, while making an unofficial visit to spring practice.

Pitt will be seeing Wester next month when he travels to Pittsburgh for his official visit, but WR coach JJ Lester wanted to stop by and see his future pupil before then and made an in-home visit.
“I was very appreciative of Coach JJ stopped by to see me and building our relationship,” Wester told PSN. “I appreciate this because I know that there are other recruits that he could be out trying to recruit, so that meant a lot to me. Our conversation was very relaxing. We talked about how life is gonna be when I get up to there to Pitt and were just talking about each other’s day.”
“Coach JJ is a great guy. If I had to describe him, he’s like that cool uncle in the family. Someone that I know that I can talk to and someone that’s going to be open with you. I’ve learned that I can have good conversations with him, person to person. He’s like family to me.”
Wester tells me that he and his teammates are currently preparing with practices for spring football. Wester says that one of the things he’s working on is his explosiveness after catching the ball so that he’s able to routinely run by the defenders.
Last season as a junior, the 5-foot-10, 160-pound wide out caught 37 passes for 675 yards and 6 TD’s, while accumulating over 1,000 all-purpose yards.
