On Monday night, Pitt added to their Class of 2026 with the commitment of 3-star wide receiver Demetrice McCray.

McCray is a 6’0″, 184-pound wide out from First Academy in Orlando, Florida and becomes Pitt’s 5th commitment for the Class of 2026. McCray is Pitt’s second wide receiver commitment, joining 3-star wide out Dylan Wester from Sarasota, Florida.

Before deciding on Pitt, McCray also held offers from Boston College, Iowa State, Kansas State, Louisville, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Ole Miss, South Florida, Central Florida, UNLV, Wake Forest, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

McCray, who officially received his offer from Pitt back in January, had two official visits- one to Pitt (June 5-7) along with the other to Boston College (June 20-23).

In 8 games played last season, McCray pulled in 36 receptions for 894 yards and 9 touchdowns. Pitt offensive coordinator Kade Bell will be able to be very creative in his usage of McCray as he’s very versatile, with the ability to play on the outside, inside as a slot receiver along with lining up in the backfield.

The Pitt coaches made an in-person visit to see McCray last week and tonight, they get their man.

McCray becomes the 4th offensive player from the state of Florida that Pitt has landed for their next two recruiting classes: McCray, Wester, 2027 running back Tyler Reid (Miramar, Florida) and 2027 4-star wide receiver Jacob Thomas (Pembroke Pines, Florida).
