Fast-Rising Texas DB Locks in Pitt Official Visit

For the second time on Tuesday, a 2026 prospect out of Texas and Pitt target locked in an official visit with the Panthers.
Zachary Taylor — a 6-foot-2, 180-pound defensive back out of Jordan High School in Katy, Texas — announced that he is taking an official visit with the Panthers from June 12-14.

Pitt jumped in on Taylor in January with his first Power Four offer as his recruitment then took off soon thereafter. A few weeks later, defensive coordinator Randy Bates made an in-home visit to meet with Taylor and his family.
Taylor then made the trip to Pittsburgh for a spring practice on March 12 to get an in-depth look at the program.
While Taylor has yet to be rated by any of the major recruiting services, he does boast a solid sheet of 20-plus offers. Along with Pitt, Maryland, Minnesota, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Utah, TCU, Houston, San Diego State, Memphis, Tulsa, Rice, Navy, Air Force, Harvard and others have offered.
Taylor spent this past weekend on an official visit at TCU and will soon take one to West Virginia from June 3-5 and Rice from June 6-8.
As a junior this past fall, Taylor recorded 53 tackles, one tackles for loss, nine pass breakups and one interception as he earned First Team All-District defensive back. Taylor also has some impressive speed as he recently clocked a 4.39 40-yard dash at the Under Armour Next Camp in Houston.
Taylor became the second Texas recruit to schedule an official visit with Pitt on Tuesday as offensive lineman Nicholas Howard out of Pearland High School locked one in for June 5-7.
The weekend of June 12-14 will feature a heavy representation of Texas prospects with Taylor. Defensive back Isaiah McMillian, four-star offensive lineman Day’Jon Moore, linebacker Reilarean Phillips, defensive end Obinna Umeh, wide receiver Ace Theus, quarterback Corey Dailey and defensive back Davis Kinney will all be on campus that weekend.
