Former Pitt QB Julian Dugger Signs with Washington St

It didn’t take Julian Dugger to find a new college football home.
11 days after leaving Pitt and entering the NCAA transfer portal, Dugger is moving across country to the Northwest.
Chris Hummer from 247 Sports was first to report that Dugger has signed on with Washington State.

The news of Dugger leaving Pitt was a surprise as many expected him to have some sort of role in the Pitt 2025 offense as he continues his development in Kade Bell’s system.
The former Penn Hills star made his college debut against Toledo in Pitt’s bowl game and impressed, rushing 21 times for 88 yards and 1 TD, while also throwing for 72 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Dugger was called upon mid-game to replace David Lynch, who got the start, and was extremely effective with his legs.
With that performance, it was anticipated that Bell would call upon Dugger in short yardage situations this upcoming season.

How that’s not going to happen following Dugger’s decision to transfer.
Eli Holstein will return as Pitt’s starter, while freshman Mason Heintschel and incoming transfer Cade Gonzales will battle for the backup spot.
The talented freshman from Ohio was impressive during the spring and likely showed Pat Narduzzi and Bell that he was ready to play.
