Cambridge was granted a seventh year of collegiate eligibility on Thursday, and shortly after, Tipton reported that he has already received interest from the following schools: North Carolina, Ohio State, Pitt, Arizona, Arizona State, Seton Hall, and Pepperdine. Tipton also reported that Cambridge said that he is now 100% healthy after missing the majority of each of the last two seasons due to injuries.
Cambridge began his career at Auburn, spending three seasons there from 2019-22. He then transferred to Arizona State for the 2022-23 season, the year in which Pitt made the NCAA Tournament with Nelly Cummings, Jamarius Burton, and company. Then, he transferred to Texas Tech. He appeared in just eight games in 2023-24, and just six games in 2024-25 due to injuries.
He suffered a knee injury early in the 2023-24 season that sidelined him for the majority of each of the last two seasons. Cambridge then left the Texas Tech team in December 2024 to seek this additional year of eligibility via a medical hardship waiver. He was granted the waiver, according to Tipton, on Thursday.
