Pitt has earned transfer commitments from several highly-productive transfers so far.

Florida State transfer Carla Viegas has committed to and signed with Pitt, according to a press release from the school.

Viegas is a 5-foot-9 sophomore guard who spent the past two seasons in Tallahassee. This past season, she had a career year, starting a career-high 17 games and averaging six points per game. Viegas made 63 three pointers at a 43% clip.

“Carla is one of the best 3-point shooters in the ACC,” Pitt women’s basketball head coach Tory Verdi stated in the release. “She’s a proven winner that has competed in the ACC and internationally. We’re excited to add another strong veteran voice, who is also familiar with our league.”

In addition, the Panthers brought in Angel Jones from Norfolk State.

“Angel is an extremely talented scoring guard,” Verdi said in a release. “She will bring a ton of experience to our team.”
