Former WPIAL standout Adou Thiero is a projected draft pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, however, according to Thiero, a return to Arkansas may still be on the table.

Meeting with reporters at the NBA Combine in Chicago, Thiero stated “The door is not completely shut, but we should know more this week. For me, the door is kinda closed but my circle around, they want to hear more great things to finally shut that door.”

The quote is according to 247 Sports National Analyst Isaac Trotter.

WPIAL Star Adou Thiero Logs Official Measurements at NBA Combine

Thiero is currently taking part in the NBA Combine. According to Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress, he measured in a 6-foot-6 1/4 barefoot, weighing 218.4 pounds. Thiero sports a 7-foot wingspan and an 8-foot-8 1/2 standing reach.

Thiero played for Arkansas and head coach John Calipari this past year after beginning his career with Calipari playing for the Kentucky Wildcats. Thiero averaged a career-high 15.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per game this past season for Arkansas in a breakout year. Thiero concluded his collegiate career with more than 600 points and 300+ rebounds.

He is signed with agency Klutch Sports Group.

As a sophomore, he appeared in 25 games for the Wildcats. Thiero averaged 7.2 points and 4.96 rebounds per game on the year. Per Arkansas’ team notes, Thiero led the Kentucky team in rebounding in eight separate games and scored at least ten points five times. Thiero exploded for 16 points and 13 rebounds last season in an early-season contest against Kansas.

Following his sophomore season, Thiero entered the transfer portal, where he was recruited by programs all over the country, including his hometown team Pitt. During the process, Thiero took a visit to Pitt and included the Panthers in his top five list. He eventually chose Arkansas, and joined a loaded roster that included Johnell Davis (FAU transfer), Boogie Fland (five-star freshman), Jonas Aidoo (Tennessee transfer), DJ Wagner (Kentucky transfer), and more.

According to 247 Sports, Thiero was ranked as a four-star prospect coming out of Quaker Valley in high school. As a transfer, he ranked as the 27th-best portal option with a 95 rating.
