Recent Interest From Pitt Staff Leads to Official Visit for Texas LB

Pitt linebackers coach Ryan Manalac is looking to shape up his unit alongside current commit Marcus Jennings when official visit season rolls around as the Panthers added another prospect to its visit list.
Arlington Bowie (Texas) linebacker Bryson Castile is the fourth available 2026 linebacker booked to take an official visit at Pitt with his slated for June 12-14.
The Panthers offered Castile back on February 23, and Manalac has recently started showing more interest in the Lone Star State recruit.
“The coaching staff started showing a lot of love, and Coach Manalac came out to Arlington to meet me and my mom,” Castile told Pittsburgh Sports Now.

Manalac visited on Monday, which was of high importance for Castile.
“He came by Monday to my practice and we chopped it up. Then, later he met up with me and my mom and we chatted and that really meant a lot to me because I know the recruiting window can be hectic, so it means a lot that he made a trip specifically for me,” Castile said.
During their interactions, Manalac has left a strong impression of the 6-3, 205-pound talent.
“Coach Manalac is a cool guy. He told me how Pitt has one of the most aggressive defenses in the country. He likes how versatile and aggressive I am, also how I blitz,” Castile said.
Along with Pitt, Castile holds additional offers from Houston, Arizona, Washington State, Oregon State, USF, UNLV, Tulsa, Nevada, San Diego State, UNLV, Louisiana Tech and others.
He has official visits set with Oregon State from Jun 6-8, Houston from June 19-21 and was planning one with UNLV, but swapped it out for Pitt.
Castile’s official visit will be the first time in Pittsburgh, but as of now, the Panthers are a team in contention for his talents.
“Pitt is definitely up there for me right now, among others,” he said. I look forward to seeing how everything plays out.”
According to MaxPreps, Castile compiled 59 tackles (35 solo), five tackles for loss, three passes defended and one forced fumble in nine games.
