Two Pitt Commitments Receive Bump in National Rankings

Following spring workouts and evaluations before the start of the 2025 high school football season, national recruiting outlets are busy making changes to the star ratings for individual players.
This will take place a couple of more times prior to National Signing Day in December.
Following the latest evaluations, two players that have committed to Pitt have received a bump in their individual rating.
2027 running back Tyler Reid from Miami, Fla. and 2026 safety Issac Patterson from Westerville, Ohio both received three-star status from different outlets.
Reid (5’9″, 165-pounds), who committed to Pitt back in March, got word that Rivals.com now ranks him as a three-star recruit, while Patterson received the same news from 247Sports.

“It means a lot to me being ranked a 3 star but I also still have a lot of work to do,” Reid tells Pittsburgh Sports Now. “I’m trying to become a five-star by my senior year and if I want to do that I have to stay focused and be locked in. The jobs not finished yet.”
As far Patterson goes, the talented safety was previously a Rivals three-star recruit but was unranked by 247Sports. Now, that has changed as he’s now a consensus three-star recruit.
“Well, I was previously ranked as a three star but not ranked nationally among all players, and it’s really a testament to all of the hard work I’ve been putting in, but the fact that it’s not four stars make me want to work even harder.”
Pitt’s Class of 2026 currently has five members and all five have three-star rankings: Three-star wide receiver Demetrice Mccray from Orlando, Fla., three-star linebacker Marcus Jennings from Detroit, Mich., three-star wide receiver Dylan Wester from Sarasota, Fla., three-star quarterback Angelo Renda from Southlake, Texas and Patterson.
With official visits starting in two weeks, look for that commitment number to increase for Pitt.
