Pitt Offers Two High School Basketball Stars

Pitt offered a pair of high-school prospects early on Monday.
The Panthers extended an offer to Ethan Mgbako, a 6-foot-6 prospect in the class of 2026 out of Oak Hill Academy, the legendary basketball powerhouse. Mgbako is the younger brother of Mackenzie Mgbako, a former five-star prospect who played for Indiana and is currently in the NBA Draft process.
Mgbako is ranked as a four-star prospect on 247 Sports, coming in at No. 91 overall in the class of 2026, according to 247’s Composite rankings. He holds additional offers from the following schools: Georgetown, West Virginia, Creighton, LSU, Florida State, Mississippi State, and others. He plays his AAU ball for Team Melo on the Nike EYBL circuit.

Pitt watched Mgbako play this past weekend in the Nike EYBL action in Memphis. In addition, coaches from Arkansas, Marquette, LSU, Illinois, Clemson, Quinnipiac, and Columbia watched Mgbako, according to Sam Lance of ZagsBlog.
Mgbako has had a strong spring playing for Team Melo on the EYBL circuit. Back on May 2, after the EYBL’s event in Phoenix, Mgbako earned 2nd Team All-Circuit honors after averaging 18.3 points, three rebounds, and two assists per game. Check out his highlights from that weekend below, via The Circuit.

In addition, the Panthers offered Adam Oumiddoch, a four-star guard who plays for Overtime Elite. Oumiddoch is a four-star as well, but is much higher ranked than Mgbako according to 247 Sports’ recruiting rankings. Oumiddoch is the No. 32 player in the nation, and the No. 4 shooting guard in the nation, according to 247’s Composite rankings.
Oumiddoch is fielding a crowded recruitment with high-majors from all over getting in the mix each week. Schools such as Texas, Alabama, Illinois, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Creighton, and many others are currently recruiting him alongside the Panthers’ staff.
Oumiddoch plays on the Adidas 3SSB circuit, where Jeff Capel was this past weekend scouting.
