Allderdice standout guard Trey Schachter has officially signed with Green Bay, according to the program.

Schachter is a 6-foot-3 senior guard who starred for Allderdice for the past few seasons. He visited Doug Gottlieb’s Green Bay program last year, and committed to the program after. Now, he is officially signed with the Phoenix’ program. Schachter averaged ten points per game this past season for Allderdice as a senior, according to MaxPreps. He had 70 assists on the year and just 31 turnovers. In addition, Schachter hit 48 of his 145 three-point tries, making 33% of his attempts from downtown.

He held offers from Green Bay and UC Santa Barbara, with interest at one point from Iona, Niagara, William & Mary, Chattanooga, UC Santa Barbara, West Liberty, and Williams College.

Schachter is not the only Pittsburgh-area basketball player to commit to and sign with a school. Recently, many of the area’s top seniors have chosen their college homes. Let’s look at some of the latest high-school hoops news from Western Pennsylvania below.

Recently, Calvin Winfrey III out of Uniontown committed to Cal U (D2).

Former Imani Christian basketball player Dame Givner committed to Slippery Rock to play college hoops, according to his Twitter account.

In addition, Brady Mayo out of Beaver committed to Slippery Rock.

Mayo scored as many as 45 points in a single game this past high-school basketball season for Beaver, shining on the hardwood as well. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound guard who runs a 4.5 40-yard dash recently shined at the Pitt Jam Fest basketball event as well, earning 2nd Team All Pitt Jam Fest honors from Hoop Group.

Ralphie Blundo committed to Indiana University – Pennsylvania.

The 6-foot, 175-pound guard played for his father at New Castle, and also played for PK Flash on the AAU circuit. Blundo scored 15.4 points per game this season in 22 games for New Castle.

Avonworth basketball star guard Rowan Carmichael announced his collegiate commitment weeks ago, too. Carmichael announced that he has committed to Edinboro, an NCAA Division II school in the PSAC. Carmichael was the No. 1 scorer in the WPIAL this past season, averaging 32 points per game in the regular season. Carmichael jumped over the 2,000-point total for his high-school career this season, too.
