Height: 6-foot-3
Weight: 195 pounds
Hometown: Lynbrook, N.Y.
2024: Agwu joined the Pitt program as a walk-on after committing in June of 2024 and redshirted during his freshman campaign.
Stats: Agwu did not record any stats last season.
Camp outlook: Still on the younger side, Agwu will take the 2025 fall camp as another opportunity to grow in the Pitt offense as a walk-on. Agwu is one of four walk-on wide receivers at the moment and looks to stand out amongst the other three. Agwu participated in spring camp, but was out for the Blue-Gold spring game.
Projected Role: The walk-on role is something in peril as roster sizes could soon shrink with the House settlement looming and a new era of revenue distribution. However, Judge Claudia Wilken is looking to grandfather in every member on current college football rosters until eligibility expires.
For Agwu and other Pitt walk-ons, that will provide them a longer window of opportunity to make a name for themselves. This season, however, Agwu will remain deep in the depth chart as he enters his second season in the program. Agwu does have nice size and smooth route running skills, so he will make for an adequate pass catcher in practice for the quarterbacks, while presenting a challenge for the defensive backs in drills.
Coming out of Lynbrook High School, Agwu earned all-conference recognition following a senior campaign in which he caught 28 passes for 462 yards (16.5 avg.) and three touchdowns. Agwu was also a member of the Lynbrook varsity boys’ basketball team.
