Camp outlook: Amofa will have another year under his belt heading into the 2025 fall camp and is someone that knows this defense well. For the Blue-Gold game in the spring, Amofa was drafted as a strong safety to the Blue Team, but did not record any stats during the game.
Projected role: It’ll be hard for Amofa to carve out a role as a walk-on who is on the smaller side. He will look to make the most out of his opportunities in a practice player role and continue to work with a younger safety room.
Amofa initially committed to Pitt as a preferred walk-on out of Hillsborough High School in New Jersey in 2022, arriving for the 2022 season. He was not highly recruited coming out of high school.
As a high school senior, he recorded 18 tackles (17 solo), an interception and defended 10 passes as a senior, helping to lead Hillsborough to a 13-0 season and NJSIAA South Group V championship — including two passes defended and an interception. He also lined up at wide receiver on offense.
He was also a letterman in track and field. According to his Hudl page, Amofa ran a 4.6 40-yard dash and 11.74 100-meter dash.
