History Tells That June Will Be Big for Pitt

The biggest month of the football recruiting calendar is quickly approaching as Pitt and all teams around college football prepare for official visit weekends.

While some players make their official visits at various other dates on the calendar, the majority of group official visits take place in June.

The month of June has historically been a productive one in terms of commitments for Pat Narduzzi and Pitt. The Panthers mindset has always been if they can get a player to make an official visit, they like their chances.

Take a look at the success Pitt has in June with receiving commitments, with a large majority of these players making their decisions following taking official visits.

PITT COMMITMENTS IN JUNE:

Class of 2025- 10 commitments (Mason Alexander, Synkwan Smith, Emmanuel Taylor, Torian Chester, Shawn Lee, Justin Thompson, Akram Elnagmi, Julian Anderson, Max Hunt and Ja’Kyrian Turner).

Class of 2024– 9 commitments (Allen Bryant, Davion Pritchard, Mason Lindsay, Nigel Maynard, Caleb Holmes, Cam Lindsey, Cameron Monteiro, Jeremiah Marcelin and Moritz Schmoranzer).

Class of 2023- 10 commitments (Jesse Anderson, Tai Ray, Ryan Carretta, Braylan Lovelace, Rasheem Biles, Kenny Johnson, Montravius Lloyd, Isaiah Neal, Shadarian Harrison and Antonio Camon).

The fact that Pitt has only 5 verbal commitments entering June isn’t alarming and shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that pays attention to Pitt, this is how their recruiting goes.

That’s what official visits are so important to them. The last thing Narduzzi and Pitt want is for a player to give them an early commitment without coming to Pittsburgh and spending any real time there and later de-commit.

If at the end of June, Pitt isn’t into double-digit commitments, then I’d raise an eyebrow.

Currently, Pitt’s five commitments are- 3-star quarterback Angelo Renda (Southlake, Texas), 3-star safety Issac Patterson (Columbus, Ohio), 3-star wide receiver Dylan Wester (Sarasota, Florida), 3-star linebacker Marcus Jennings (Detroit, Michigan) and 3-star Demetrice Mccray (Orland0, Florida).
