Tragedy in Clairton as Former Athlete Shot and Killed

A tragedy in the Clairton community over the weekend as a former Clairton athlete lost his life.

Former Clairton athlete Brendan Michael Parsons was tragically shot and killed on Sunday during a Memorial Day picnic.

The 23-year-old was a standout quarterback at Clairton and also was a member of the school’s basketball and baseball teams in high school.

According to various news reports, police arrived at the 300 block of Division Street in Clairton around 9:32 PM. When police arrived, Parsons was found deceased at the scene and was the victim of a gunshot wound.

According to reports, police believe that an argument led to the shooting.

Allegheny County police say that a man, who was not named, has been taken into custody. However, anyone that may have information about this incident are asked to call the county police tip line at 1-833-255-8477.
