When EA Sports released the first College Football video game in over a decade last year, it was met with wide popularity and fan fare.

Excitement has been building for the College Football 26 game for months now with expected improvements.

On Thursday, EA Sports officially released the trailer for the new game and Pitt football was once again featured.

This year, the trailer shows quarterback Eli Holstein weaving his way through the West Virginia defense during the Backyard Brawl before stretching at the goal line for a touchdown.

The game’s cover was unveiled earlier in the week with the regular version featuring talented wide receivers Jeremiah Smith from Ohio State and Ryan Williams from Alabama.

On the deluxe cover, a variety of college football’s top players, coaches, mascots, fans and more are on display.

Pitt also revealed its own team-specific edition with wide receiver Kenny Johnson as the representative on the cover.

Some of the new gameplay features include 160 new school specific chants, decommitments and expanded transfer portal, light shows, intensified stadium pulse, new high school road to glory features, 300-plus real coaches, 2,700-plus new plays and more.

Players who opted into the game will receive a pay bump for their name, image and likeness from $600 to $1,500 for the newest version, it was reported back in March.

The long-awaited College Football 25 game did not disappoint. 14,000 players opted in with 11,000 players NIL officially used within the game. The number of players featured in the game is expected to remain the same. CFB25 went on to become the highest-selling sports game of all-time based on dollar sales.

The College Football 26 game will be released on July 10.
