A month after making his college decision, Pine-Richland standout Jay Timmons has received some good recruiting news.

Timmons received word that 247 Sports has bumped up his recruiting status, raising him to a 4-star recruit. Rivals.com and On3 Sports still list Timmons as a 3-star recruit.

Back on April 28th, Timmons closed down his recruitment by announcing his decision to commit to the Indiana Hoosiers.

In the end, Timmons (5’11”, 185-pounds) selected Indiana over other offers from Pitt, West Virginia, Akron, Toledo, Syracuse, Temple, Eastern Michigan, Iowa, Iowa State, Wisconsin, South Florida, Buffalo, Sacramento State, UConn, UNLV, Maryland, Bowling Green, Coastal Carolina, James Madison and Virginia.

Last season, Timmons posted 42 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 4 interceptions, 1 sack, 3 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries and 10 passes defended. Offensively, Timmons played wide receiver for the Rams and caught 40 passes for 755 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Timmons caught the eye of plenty of talent evaluators with a dominant performance at a recent Under Armour skills camp.
