Top In-State Pitt OL Target Commits to Big 10 Program

One of the top available offensive lineman in the state of Pennsylvania for the 2026 class and a key four-star Pitt target is officially off the board.
Tyler Duell — a 6-foot-6, 300-pound offensive tackle out of West Chester East High School — announced his commitment Saturday as he will take his talents to Rutgers University in the Big 10.

Duell selects the Scarlet Knights over other offers from Georgia, Missouri, Pitt, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Nebraska, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Duke and others.
The commitment to Rutgers comes while Duell was visiting the Scarlet Knights on an official visit. He was also scheduled to take an official visit at Pitt from June 19-21, along with Cincinnati and Kentucky.
Duell became an important target for the Panthers on the offensive line for Jeremy Darveau. The in-state prospect visited in the fall for a gameday experience against Clemson and subsequently received an offer. He was then back for a junior day visit in January and again in March for a spring visit.
Pitt was in the mix to land Duell and the Panthers were looking to make a move while on his official visit, but that visit will most likely not happen.
According to Rivals, Duell is a four-star recruit, the No. 6 overall player in the state and 34th offensive tackle in the cycle.
The Panthers are looking to land their first offensive lineman in the 2026 class. They will host nine offensive linemen for official visits.
During the first weekend of June 5-7, Pitt will receive visits from three-star Mike Vanderoord, three-star Landry Brede and Nicholas Howard, who has the Panthers as a top three choice right now.
