LB Scheduled to Visit Pitt, Instead Commits to Big 10 Program

For the second day in a row, a 2026 recruit that had an official visit scheduled with Pitt has instead committed to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
On Saturday, 4-star offensive tackle Tyler Duell (West Chester, PA). committed to Rutgers while on an official visit.
The 6-foot-6, 300-pound offensive tackle was scheduled to take an official visit to Pitt from June 19-21. Duell was rated by Rivals as the No. 6 overall player in Pennsylvania.
A day later, 3-star linebacker Adam Shaw followed Duell’s lead and gave a commitment to Greg Schiano.
The 6-3, 205-pound linebacker from New Jersey received his offer from Pitt on May 15th and scheduled an official visit for this coming weekend (June 5-7).
I’m excited to announce that I am 100% committed to Rutgers Football! Thank you to the Rutgers staff for this incredible opportunity and to my family for always supporting me. Let’s get to work! #FTC 🪓 @GregSchiano @CoachSparber @PValleyFootball pic.twitter.com/qX2ve1VliY

Although he ended up committing to his hometown school, this quick commitment was a bit surprising in the sense that Shaw also had an official visit scheduled to Michigan State, the school that both his mother and father attended on athletic scholarships.
Despite not getting Shaw and Duell on visits, Pitt is still scheduled to have 20+ players make official visits this coming weekend.
