To The Burgh: Intriguing Four-Star WR Jaydon Dunbar

To The Burgh is a Pittsburgh Sports Now series detailing each 2026 uncommitted prospect expected to be at Pitt for an official visit in June.

Jaydon Dunbar comes to Pitt for an official weekend from June 5-7 as a prospect with plenty of intrigue.

The Thomas County Central (Georgia) prospect is ranked as a top-60 receiver by 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals, which ranks him the highest as the No. 40 wide out in the nation. He’s also a prospect with a lot of length, standing at 6-foot-5, 180 pounds.

He was originally scheduled to take a Pitt official visit the weekend of June 19, but canceled back in March. He then put Pitt back on his schedule after removing the in-state Georgia Bulldogs. Pitt was Dunbar’s second Power Four offer back in early January.

Status: Dunbar has narrowed down his recruitment to a final 10 schools of Pitt, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Minnesota, West Virginia, Michigan State, Duke, Mississippi State, Kentucky and USF.

Along with Pitt, Dunbar has additional official visits with Duke (May 30-June 1), Mississippi State (June 13) and Kansas State (June 19). Georgia is still a player for his commitment as well.

Nate’s Take: Pitt has two wide receiver commitments in the 2026 class — three-star Dylan Wester and three-star Demetrice McCray — and the staff is looking to add at least one more prospect to that unit and a fourth is not out of the question either.

The Panthers are in the mix for Dunbar and as of now, I’d say there’s about a 50 percent chance that they can land the wide receiver. However, the Panthers have several other targets above him on their board taking visits with deeper relationships.

The official visit will make a huge impact on a decision for Dunbar but wouldn’t expect him to make a decision after he completes the rest of his slate of visits.
