Pitt FB Recruiting
To The Burgh: Three-Star Official Visitor LB Adam Shaw

To The Burgh is a Pittsburgh Sports Now series detailing each uncommitted 2026 prospect expected to be at Pitt for an official visit in June.
Adam Shaw is a linebacker prospect that Pitt has kept an eye on for over a year now. Linebackers coach Ryan Manalac expressed interest last May, but it took a while for the Panthers to officially pull the trigger and extend an offer.
The 6-3, 205-pound prospect out of Pascack Valley High School in New Jersey picked up a Pitt offer back on May 15 and quickly scheduled an official visit for June 5-7.
“My decision to make an official visit to Pitt was pretty easy. I’ve been able to come to campus a few times. Once over the summer as my parents and I were passing through the area, for a Junior Day in the spring and again for a football game against California. It’s great for me to get this official visit scheduled and take my recruiting to the next level as I’ll be able to see more of their facilities and what Pitt has to offer,” Shaw told PSN a few weeks ago.
With the relationship building with Pitt over the past year, he visited last June and then returned for the Pitt-Cal game and a junior day visit.

According to MaxPreps, Shaw recorded just six tackles in 12 games on defense.

Status: Shaw is a Michigan State legacy recruit and will take an official visit there on June 12. Nearby Rutgers is also high up for Shaw.
He holds additional offers from Wake Forest, James Madison, UConn, UMass, Maine, Monmouth, Bucknell, Old Dominion, Cornell and others.
Nate’s Take: Pitt has one linebacker commit in the class from three-star Marcus Jennings out of Michigan. The Panthers took two linebackers in the 2025 cycle, so it will be interesting to see if they take more than two in this class.
Shaw has a strong relationship with the Pitt staff and his past visits have put the Panthers in a good position. It all depends on where Shaw stands overall on Pitt’s board with four other linebackers expected on campus for official visits.
