Pitt FB Recruiting
To The Burgh: Top Tight End Target Javonte Williams

To The Burgh is a Pittsburgh Sports Now series detailing each 2026 uncommitted prospect expected to be at Pitt for an official visit in June.
Pitt is looking to fulfill its tight end slot in the 2026 class and the Panthers’ board has shifted over the past couple weeks between commitments elsewhere and new offers.
One prospect, however, has remained a constant in the recruitment of 2026 tight ends and that is The Bullis School’s (Maryland) Javonte Williams. He moves up his Pitt official visit from the second weekend of June to the first.
Williams, who stands at 6-4, 215 pounds, earned an offer from the Panthers back in January while on a junior day visit. He then returned for a trip during spring camp.
Tight ends coach Jacob Bronowski has visited him in-person twice, showing the high interest Pitt has in the three-star prospect.

Status: Williams has 15-plus offers and several top Power Four suitors. He recently completed a nearby official visit with Maryland this past weekend. The Terps will certainly be a school to watch out for.
Following his Pitt official, he will be at N.C. State for one on the weekend of June 13-15, along with one at Indiana. Rutgers was a school on his radar, but the Scarlet Knights just landed a tight end, which most likely takes them out of the running.
Nate’s Take: At this point, things still seem rather open for Williams in his recruitment as he feels out his options with official visits.
Pitt certainly views Williams as one of its top priorities at tight end and the coaching staff is looking to make an even stronger impression on an already solid relationship.
The Panthers are in good position to land Williams, but will have to beat out in-state Maryland for the three-star recruit with N.C. State and Indiana also as options. Williams is a candidate to commit following his official in Pittsburgh.
