Pitt is pursuing one of the top international players that is still available.

Roman Siulepa out of Australia is an ultra-talented prospect who competed at an NBL Next Stars practice last week. ESPN national basketball analyst and former D1 head coach Paul Biancardi posted a video of Siulepa at the practice on May 30, throwing down a slam dunk in traffic. Check out the video of the slam here.

In the comment section of Biancardi’s post, a Pitt fan asked “Pitt?” In response, Biancardi replied with a GIF that said “Yeah, pretty much.” In early May, PSN’s Mike Vukovcan reported that Pitt would land a commitment from Siulepa.

Siulepa is a 6-foot-7, 220-pound small forward, who’s described as an “overpowering physical presence, that fears no battles or collisions and is terrifying in transition and is developing into an unstoppable force on the glass.”

Siulepa is Australian, but has Samoan heritage, which you can tell by the size of him. Last year before signing with the JackJumpers, Siulepa was one of the most sought-after international prospects before deciding to stay in Australia. Siulepa won MVP of the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders Asia Camp and MVP of the Australian U20 National Championship.

Pitt has already landed four transfer commitments already this spring, earning commitments from two former Iowa State players. Dishon Jackson, a center, committed first. Then, Nojus Indrusaitis committed to the Panthers. Before Minor, Barry Dunning Jr. committed to Pitt. Now, Minor joins the squad. Stay tuned for more recruiting coverage on PSN.
