Woodland Hills Ziggy Moore Recaps Toledo OV, Looks Ahead

Woodland Hills 2026 linebacker Zykir ‘Ziggy’ Moore is one of the more underrated recruits in the WPIAL.
Very quietly, the 6’2″, 215-pound linebacker has compiled an impressive list of offers which include Boston College, NC State, Syracuse, UNLV, Toledo, Sacramento State, Old Dominion, Ohio U., UConn, UMass, Liberty, Kent State, Eastern Michigan, Buffalo, Bowling Green, Albany and Akron.
A few days ago, Moore started the process of narrowing down this list of offers by releasing his Top Five schools.
After announcing his Top 5 of Boston College, NC State, Syracuse, UConn and Toledo, Moore completed his first official visit over the weekend with a trip to Toledo.
“I would say that my first official visit was a great experience,” Moore tells Pittsburgh Sports Now. “I really had an opportunity to talk ball with the Toledo coaching staff, it was great. The Toledo coaching staff has a great culture. They’ve all been there a lot of years now and you can tell that Coach Candle knows what he’s going. I really loved my experience at Toledo.”
With this impressive list of offers, it’s not easy to narrow things down in order to select a handful of schools to pick for official visits. I asked Moore about what he saw and heard from Coach Candle and the Toledo coaching staff.
“What was really eye-opening for me about Toledo was that they never put on a front for me. Even when I went on an official visit, I was asking the players about that because some coaches put on a front when recruiting you and will say things and do this and that but don’t really do it or are like that when you get up there. I asked the Toledo players about that, and they all told me that this wasn’t an act, and this is how they run their program. This is Toledo’s standard. No school is too big or too small for me.”

This will be a busy month of June for Moore as this Thursday, he will travel to NC State for official visit No. 2 and the week after that, Moore will head up to Boston College.
“As far as NC State, that’s my first Southern team,” said Moore. “Everyone doesn’t want to stay in the cold so that was a big offer. I also like Coach Elliott. He came from the Eagles about two years ago and he knows the game well. I want to go somewhere that will be able to prepare me for the next level and get developed for it. Plus, the NC State campus is lovely.”
Last season for Woodland Hills, Moore collected 92 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, 1 interception as well as scoring 13 touchdowns on the offensive side of the ball.
