7. Louisville
Pat Kelsey and his staff had an excellent first year in Louisville, and have followed it up with a tremendous offseason in the portal.
First, the Cardinals landed Ryan Conwell, a former Indiana State and Xavier star guard. Following Conwell, the Cardinals also added Adrian Wooley, one of the best players in the portal out of Kennesaw State. Then, on Thursday, Louisville landed former Virginia sharpshooter Isaac McKneely out of the portal.
Playing under Sean Miller at Xavier, Conwell had a stellar season, averaging 16.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. He shot 45% from the field as a junior this past season, including 41% from three-point range. Conwell, who was one of the best shooters in the portal each of the last two years, made 109 threes at Indiana State in 2023-24, and 99 at Xavier in the 2024-25 season.
Wooley is a 6-foot-5 freshman guard who averaged 18.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. He shot 42% from three-point range this season, making 73 threes.
McKneely, a West Virginia native, is a 6-foot-4 guard. In his recent junior season playing for the Cavaliers, he averaged 14.4 points and 2.9 assists per contest. He shot 44% from the field and 42% from three-point range. McKneely made a career-high 101 three pointers this past season at that 42% clip, and made 82 three pointers the year prior at a 45% rate.
12. Duke
Duke is going to look young next season — but the Blue Devils have tons of talent. Caleb Foster and Isaiah Evans return to the back court, and the Boozer twins, as well as Nikolas Khamenia, Sebastian Wilkins, and Dame Sarr are a talented young bunch that will join this year’s roster.
24. NC State
Will Wade and his staff have had an excellent spring in the portal as well, landing Derrion Williams and a handful of other top talents. Ven-Allen Lubin transferred to NC State recently from North Carolina, the next team on this list. Wade and company also brought in Tre Holloman, Terrance Arceneaux, Jerry Deng, and some of his own top players from McNeese State such as Quadir Copeland.
25. North Carolina
UNC lost Jonathan Powell and Elliot Cadeau to the portal, but rebounded by bringing in Kyan Evans from Colorado State and Henri Veesaar from Arizona. The Tar Heels have also added Luka Bogavac and young star Caleb Wilson, while retaining Seth Trimble to the roster.
