To The Burgh: Key Three-Star RB Official Visitor Christian Lawrence

To The Burgh is a Pittsburgh Sports Now series detailing each uncommitted 2026 prospect expected to be at Pitt for an official visit in June.
Pitt only has three running backs on the books for official visits as of now: Damon Ferguson, Christian Lawrence and SirPaul Cheeks.
Ferguson and Lawrence will be in town together from June 5-7 and Pitt is looking to land commitments from both prospects to bolster its 2026 running back class.
Lawrence — a 5-foot-9, 185-pound three-star out of Thomas County Central High School in Georgia — has been involved with Pitt since the fall after offensive coordinator Kade Bell offered on Nov. 20.
The upcoming official visit will be Lawrence’s first time on campus and in Pittsburgh.
“I decided to take an official visit to Pitt because I love the coaching staff, and I love how of a priority I am to them,” Lawrence told PSN back in February. “And I also would like to visit the school and see the campus.”

Stats: As a junior, Lawrence compiled 161 carries for 1,468 yards (9.1 yards per carry) and 18 touchdowns, along with 22 receptions for 326 yards and three more touchdowns. He runs a 4.52 40-yard dash, according to his Hudl page.

Status: Lawrence narrowed down his recruitment to a final six schools in April that includes Pitt, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, Purdue and Wake Forest.
Along with Pitt, he recently completed an official visit at Virginia Tech and has upcoming stops at West Virginia (June 13-15) and Wake Forest (June 20-22).
Nate’s Take: The Pitt staff has showed a lot of interest in Lawrence and views him high on their board, but it will be Lawrence’s first time visiting campus.
I believe Pitt is in a good spot with Lawrence, especially with a strong relationship building between him and running backs coach Lindsey Lamar. However, as mentioned before, it is Lawrence’s first time on campus and the Panthers really have to impress while he’s on the official.
