Pitt football’s first official visit weekend is off and running as the Panthers land a commitment from a three-star WPIAL recruit.

Lincoln Hoke — a 6-foot-2, 260-pound defensive tackle out of North Allegheny High School in Wexford, Pa. — committed to Pitt, he announced Friday evening.

Entering the official visit weekend, Hoke was a prospect that was leaning heavily towards Pitt and he ultimately made the decision to lock in with Pat Narduzzi and the Panthers.

Hoke, the son of former Pittsburgh Steeler Chris Hoke, selects Pitt over offers from West Virginia, Toledo, James Madison, New Mexico, Delaware, Buffalo, Akron, Kent State, Penn, Harvard, Princeton, Cornell and Sacramento State. He was slated to visit West Virginia from June 13-15.

After a strong junior season at North Allegheny, Hoke saw his recruitment take off after the new year. Pitt defensive line coach Tim Daoust starting showing interest before finally offering after an in-person visit on Feb. 8. Hoke then returned for a spring visit in March with his father, former Pittsburgh Steeler Chris Hoke.

Hoke compiled 66 tackles (37 solo), nine tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, two blocked kicks and one interception as a junior. He also was an anchor on the offensive line as the Tigers rush for 171 yards per game. He earned First Team Big 56 All-Conference honors and Second Team All-Pennsylvania recognition this past fall.

Rivals is the only recruiting service that has Hoke rated and it comes as a three-star status.

Hoke becomes the sixth commitment of the 2026 class and third on the defensive side of the ball. He joins three-star linebacker Marcus Jennings and three-star safety Isaac Patterson.
