Pitt Lands Commitment from Big-Time Four-Star Wide Receiver

It’s been a massive weekend so far for Pitt football on the recruiting front with nine commitments from official visitors and players are slowly revealing one by one their commitment to the Panthers.
The latest verbal pledge comes from a lengthy and talented four-star wide receiver out of Georgia.
Jaydon Dunbar — a 6-foot-5, 180-pound recruit out of Thomas County Central High School in Georgia — announced his commitment to the Panthers via Instagram Saturday while on his official visit.

Pitt four-star commit Jaydon Dunbar while on his official visit.
Dunbar selects Pitt over a top 10 of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Minnesota, West Virginia, Michigan State, Duke, Mississippi State, Kentucky and USF. He recently took an official visit to Duke and had plans to take officials at Mississippi State and Kansas State.
He becomes the third wide receiver of Pitt’s 2026 class, joining three-star Dylan Wester and three-star Demetrice McCray — both out of Florida.
This is a major recruiting win for offensive coordinator Kade Bell, wide receivers coach JJ Laster and co. out of the talent-rich state of Georgia. Dunbar’s official visit schedule fluctuated as he had Pitt originally on the books for the weekend of June 19-21, but canceled. Pitt’s ability to get him back on the schedule and then land him speaks volumes of the work the staff was able to do.
Pitt was just the second Power Four program to offer Dunbar back in early January before his recruitment took off.
Rivals rates Dunbar as a four-star prospect and the No. 41 wide receiver in the cycle, along with the No. 43 player out of Georgia.
As a junior at Thomas County Central, Dunbar recorded 21 catches for 390 yards and six touchdowns.

Pitt has picked up nine total commitments from the official visit weekend with now five revealed: Dunbar, four-star Peters Township edge rusher Reston Lehman, three-star Florida defensive back Kentrail Mcrae Jr., three-star North Allegheny defensive tackle Lincoln Hoke and Pine-Richland offensive lineman John Curran III.
