New Pitt Point Guard Excited for Season: ‘It’s Going to Look Different’

Pitt added a new point guard earlier this offseason after losing Jaland Lowe to the transfer portal.
With Lowe off to Kentucky, a new player will be taking the lead in Pitt’s offense. That is Damarco Minor, a transfer guard out of Oregon State.
On Monday, Pitt basketball’s social media channels posted a video of Minor with a message to Pitt fans.

“What’s up man, it’s Damarco Minor, a.k.a. Polo,” he said. “From Chicago, senior guard. I can’t wait to get down there, man, I can’t wait to get to this work, I can’t wait to get back to the winning ways. Just can’t wait man. I know we’re going to have a great year this year. We’ve got a great ball club, great coaches, the city is amazing, and I feel like it’s only right that we give the city what we deserve and that’s getting Pitt back to its winning ways and bringing home a ring, man. Only thing I can guarantee y’all, man, it’s going to feel different, it’s going to look different, for sure. Put your seatbelts on, just enjoy this ride, because I know this is going to be a different one, for sure. Hail to Pitt.”
Minor, a 6-foot senior guard out of Chicago, averaged 9.8 points and 5.1 assists per game for the Beavers this past season. Prior to his time at Oregon State, he spent two seasons at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. Minor has started 98 of the 99 career games he has played at the D1 level. This season, he played 31.9 minutes per game for the Beavers, shooting a career-low 28% from three-point range.
