During the offseason, a number of highly skilled players within the WPIAL have transferred to other programs.

On Wednesday, it was revealed that another name can be added to the list as a skilled quarterback has left for another WPIAL school.

2028 quarterback Anthony Smith has left Southmoreland High School and will be attending Seton LaSalle High School.

The combination of Smith and 2027 4-star wide receiver Khalil Taylor will be one of the top passing duos in the state of Pennsylvania. Taylor has already given a commitment to James Franklin and Penn State.

As a freshman last season, Smith passed for 2,110 yards and 22 touchdowns, becoming only the second freshman in WPIAL history to throw for over 2,000 yards.

Smith (6’2”, 190-pounds) impressed enough to earn his first D-1 offer, which came from Syracuse. That list of offers will no doubt be increasing in the future.
