Date Announced for Pitt’s Game Vs. SEC Team

Pitt will take on Texas A&M in the 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge on the basketball court.
The Panthers will host the Aggies, as first reported by CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein. Days after Rothstein’s report of the matchup, the official release came out, including the date of the games.
Pitt Vs. Texas A&M will take place at Pitt’s Petersen Events Center on Dec. 2.
Texas A&M is coming off of a March Madness appearance this spring in which it defeated Yale in the opening round before falling to Michigan in the Round of 32.
Pitt and Texas A&M have only met one time on the hardwood and it came all the way back in December of 1985 during the Sugar Bowl Classic in New Orleans, La. The Panthers defeated the Aggies 79-62 on the way to a 15-14 overall finish on the year.
It will also mark the return of former Pitt forward Federiko Federiko after transferring to Texas A&M after two seasons with Texas Tech.
Since the ACC/SEC Challenge began in 2023, Pitt has lost both of its matchups. Last season, the then 18th-ranked Panthers were throttled on the road by Mississippi State, 90-57. The year prior, Pitt lost to Missouri at the Petersen Events Center, 71-64.
Along with Texas A&M, Pitt will travel to West Virginia on Nov. 13 and Ohio State at home on Nov. 28 as part of its non-conference slate.
The Panthers are coming off an underwhelming 17-15 season as they missed the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row.
Pitt returns several players, including Beebah Cummings, Cameron Corhen Papa Amadou Kante and Amdy Ndiaye. The Panthers have brought in four transfer portal prospects so far: Barry Dunning Jr., Damarco Minor, Nojus Indrusaitis, and Dishon Jackson.
The Panthers will also feature a handful of freshman from its 2025 class with Omari Witherspoon, Kieran Mullen, Macari Moore and Henry Lau.
