Fox Chapel kicker Harran Zureikat commits to Georgia

For the second recruiting class in a row, a talented WPIAL kicker is headed to the SEC.

Fox Chapel five-star recruit and No. 1 kicker in the 2026 class Harran Zureikat has committed to the University of Georgia, he announced Thursday via X.

“First thing is that obviously Georgia is a championship team,” Zureikat told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “I want to be a part of the team’s history and help them make it to reach their ultimate goal.

“Also, the situation I am walking into is very ideal. Peyton Woodring is arguably the best kicker in college football and will be a senior when I come in. I get the opportunity to compete with him, but also learn from him physically and mentally about what it’s like to play in the SEC. Lastly, it’s the most elite coaching staff in the country. Coach Smart does an awesome of being very involved with the specialists which is huge for me.”

Zureikat’s verbal pledge to the Bulldogs comes just two days after receiving an offer from the program following an on-campus workout in front of head coach Kirby Smart.

Zureikat is a five-star prospect and ranks as the top kicker and second-best punter in the 2026 cycle, according to the Kohls Kicking rankings.

He becomes the second WPIAL kicker in as many years to commit to a SEC program after North Allegheny’s Peter Notaro received a scholarship and signed with Alabama in the 2025 class.

Zureikat was a growing commodity amongst kickers in the 2026 cycle after picking up offers from Pitt, Penn State, Syracuse, Maryland, Boston College and Akron.

The local prospect has an official visit scheduled with the hometown Pitt Panthers from June 19-21, but that visit will most likely change. He previously took an official visit to Boston College and was also expected to visit Syracuse this weekend
