Junior Quarterback Earns Offer at Pitt Camp

Over the years, Pat Narduzzi and Pitt have a strong track record of extending offers to players that perform well at their prospects camp and that occurred again on Sunday.

At least 3 campers earned offers from Pitt including a junior quarterback from Florida.

2027 quarterback Kevin Verpaele (6’2″, 190-pounds) from Merritt Island, Florida traveled to Pittsburgh to try and impress Kade Bell and Pitt and did exactly that. Following camp and a conversation with Bell, Verpaele received his first Power 4 offer.

Prior to yesterday, Verpaele received offers from Miami Ohio, Jacksonville State, Western Carolina and Georgia Southern.

Following receiving the exciting news, Pittsburgh Sports Now had a chance to catch up with Verpaele.

“I came up to Pitt because I saw it as a great chance to compete and show what I can do,” said Verpaele. “I’ve followed the program, and I love how they develop quarterbacks. I was definitely hoping for an offer, but my main goal was to perform and prove I belong. After camp, I had a great talk with Coach Bell, and he said he liked how I threw and carried myself and later he offered me. That moment meant a lot because Pitt is a big-time program, and this offer motivates me to keep working and pushing forward. This is just the beginning, and I will continue to work as hard as I can.”
