According to a report from basketball insider Joe Tipton, Pitt will be receiving an official visit this week from a highly rated prospect.

This morning, Tipton reports that 2026 4-star wing Ethan Mgbako will make an official visit to Pitt this coming Thursday.

Mgbako is a 6’6″, 215-pound small forward from basketball power Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia. Currently, Mgbako is ranked by 247 Sports as the No. 3 overall prospect in Virginia and the No. 91 overall player in the Class of 2026.

This will be the first official visit for Mgbako.

Along with Pitt, Mgbako holds offers from Georgetown, Mississippi State, Creighton, LSU, West Virginia, Florida State, Texas A&M, etc.

In a recent interview, Mgbako told PSN’s George Michalowski that Pitt assistant Milan Brown initially began recruiting him, but HC Jeff Capel has taken the lead in his recruitment and has been watching him in his most recent EYBL games.

“They told me that I remind them of several guards they’ve had in the past-but that I’m even bigger in size, which gives me a unique edge,” Mgbako told PSN.”

“I’d describe my skill set as unique. I’m a fluid big guard with high basketball IQ and a sharpshooter. I compare my game to Cade Cunningham and Dylan Harper. I take pride in being a leader and a team-first player.”

Mgbako is the younger brother of Texas A&M signee Mackenzie Mgbako, a former five-star recruit and McDonalds’ All-American who began his career at Indiana.
