Breakdown: Where Are Pitt’s 2027 Offers Going To?

Recruiting for now but also the future is the top priority right now for the Pat Narduzzi and the Pitt Panthers.
With 19 verbal commitments, Pitt is coming close to filling up their Class of 2026 and then it will be about maintaining relationships and holding onto the players that have given them a verbal.
While focusing on the current recruiting class, Pitt is also transitioning into the players in the Class of 2027.
In-direct communication was permitted with their coaches and through unofficial visits, however June 15th is when direct communication was Ok with the soon to be juniors.
Pitt received some 2027 recruiting news over the weekend when interior offensive lineman Colin Urrea (Naples, Florida) gave them a verbal commitment. Urrea became the 3rd member of Pitt’s Class of 2027, joining 4-star wide receiver Jacob Thomas (Pembroke Pines, Florida) and 3-star running back Tyler Reid (Miami, Florida).
While direct communication wasn’t permitted prior to Monday, teams were obviously permitted to extend offers and the Pitt staff has been busy doing that to players in the Class of 2027 for well over a year.
Thus far, Pitt’s three 2027 commitments have come from the state of Florida, which remains the Panthers top recruiting territory.
As has been well documented, the Pitt program has been a heavy emphasis on recruiting Texas, and it’s paid off with five commitments in their Class of 2026.
From the looks of things, the trend of recruiting the Lone Star State isn’t stopping anytime soon.
