Pitt All 105 is a Pittsburgh Sports Now series profiling each member of the Pitt 2025 training camp roster. In order to prepare for Pitt football’s 2025 season, PSN is breaking down every player on the roster in alphabetical order. Next up is offensive lineman Jackson Brown.

Pitt is in much need of an improved offensive line and the coaching staff made it a priority to grab some experienced talent out of the transfer portal in the winter that could slot in and start. But what about those backing up those projected starters?

If anything, more importance needs placed on the development of the younger talent and depth pieces on the offensive line in 2025. It’s inevitable that the starting line on Day 1 will make it to the end of November.

That’s where someone like Jackson Brown comes in. He enters his redshirt junior season and second with the Panthers after transferring from Cal.

His development will be crucial throughout the offseason as he’ll have a shot at seeing more playing time during the season much like a starting opportunity opened for one game last year. Ultimately, he’ll be relied upon as a key depth piece on the offensive line this season for Pitt.

Height: 6-foot-6
Weight: 310 pounds
Hometown: Danville, Calif.

2024 season: Brown played in six games last year with one start at right tackle coming against Clemson. A year prior, he saw action in three games.

Stats: According to Pro Football Focus, Brown totaled 119 snaps at right tackle, six at left guard and one at right guard in 2024. He allowed four sacks, allowed nine pressure and took one penalty.

Camp outlook: Brown had his fair share of struggles last season in the time he saw, but it will go down as valuable experience nonetheless. Fall camp will be critical for Brown to get more entrenched in the offense as someone who could see the field this season as a primary backup.

Projected role: While Brown primarily saw action last season at tackle, he spent a majority of spring camp inside at right guard. He slotted in with the second team unit on the offensive line and that’s right where he is expected as of now heading into the season.

Even though he saw a lot of snaps in the spring at right guard, Terrence Enos was next to him at right tackle. However, Enos is now at Kansas State, so Brown’s options to play guard or tackle still remain open entering fall camp.

Either way, his ability to play at both spots illustrates his versatility and position coach Jeremy Darveau is always looking to put his best five guys on the field.

Pitt may have found some answers in the starting rotation on the offensive line, but Brown will be a key depth figure. Injuries happen and that’s partly what opened an opportunity for Brown last year. This time around, he’ll be looking for another chance that he can showcase his ability to be a future starter at Pitt.
