TE Truitt Brown Looks to Progress in Second Year | Pitt All 105

Pitt All 105 is a Pittsburgh Sports Now series profiling each member of the Pitt 2025 training camp roster. In order to prepare for Pitt football’s 2025 season, PSN is breaking down every player on the roster in alphabetical order. Next up is tight end Truitt Brown.
Walk-on tight end Truitt Brown is entering his second season at Pitt and will look to progress in the Panthers’ offense.
Height: 6-foot-4
Weight: 225 pounds
Hometown: Tampa, Fla.
2024: Brown joined Pitt as a walk-on for training camp. He did not see any action and preserved a redshirt.
Camp outlook: It will be the start of Year 2 for Brown in the Pitt program as he continues to develop under Kade Bell and Jacob Bronowski. Brown will get his fair share of action during camp as the tight ends further down the depth chart will jockey for positioning.
Projected role: Brown showed some positive attributes in spring camp. He has good size and can go up and make catches. He recorded one reception for 11 yards in the Blue-Gold spring game.

There’s still plenty of developing for Brown as he enters his second season with the Panthers. If he sees the field at all, it would most likely be in a special teams capacity. Brown will be a reserve tight end for the season behind the likes of Jake Overman, Malachi Thomas and Justin Holmes.
However, he will look to solidify himself right behind that group and battle with Josh Altsman, Max Hunt, who will most likely redshirt as a freshman, and Adam Howanitz.
Brown picked the Panthers back in February of 2024 over other preferred walk-on opportunities from Temple, Lafayette, Towson and Louisville. He also held a scholarship offer to Stetson.
As a senior at Sickles High School, he compiled 30 receptions for 385 yards (12.8 yards per reception) and five touchdowns. He served as a key blocker in the offensive scheme, too.
